After-hours answering
Ring your team during business hours. After hours, or when nobody answers, the AI receptionist takes the call.
An after-hours answering service answers your business calls when your office is closed. InsertChat routes calls by your weekly opening hours and time zone: your team’s phone rings while you are open, and the AI receptionist answers after hours, or whenever nobody picks up within the ring time you choose.
A dramatized after-hours call to a fictional plumbing company: the AI receptionist takes the address and books the first morning opening.

Calls ring the number you choose for 5 to 60 seconds before the assistant answers.
Today lists handoffs, missed calls, and conversations that need a person.
Choose who answers in your call routing settings: the AI receptionist always, the AI after hours, the AI when your team doesn’t pick up, or your team only. Set weekly opening hours, including overnight shifts, and your time zone, then enter the number to ring and a ring time between 5 and 60 seconds.
With the “AI when unanswered” setting, every call rings your team first and moves to the AI receptionist when nobody answers in time. If the call reaches a staff voicemail box, it returns to the assistant instead, so the caller still gets an answer.
Answers from your knowledge, appointment booking on your calendar when you allow it, and a clear next step. A caller who asks for a callback gets a confirmation by text or email after the call, and your team finds the request, summary, and transcript in the shared inbox.
The assistant reads the safety steps you wrote, such as leaving the building and calling 911, and collects the address and details for whoever responds. A caller in distress, a safety risk, or a serious service failure triggers an urgent alert, and the conversation is marked needs-you so your team is emailed.
Paid plans start at $98 per month and include one phone number and monthly AI credits. Calls the assistant answers use credits, round up to whole minutes, and have a one-minute minimum. See pricing for plan allowances and a usage estimate.
