# Square Integration for AI Customer Service

## Answer order and booking questions with Square details

A customer asks about an order, an invoice, or an existing appointment. With the Square actions you enable, your assistant can find the customer, look up orders, payments, invoices, subscriptions, and payment links, and search your catalog. For Square bookings, it can search availability and look up, update, or cancel an existing booking. It can also create and update customer profiles.

## Setup

1. **Connect your account.** Find Square in the InsertChat app catalog and authorize the account you want to use.
2. **Choose the actions.** Select the supported actions your assistant needs and review the connection’s permissions.
3. **Test the workflow.** Try the customer flow and confirm that actions, approvals, and handoff work the way your team expects.

## Can my assistant take payments or issue refunds in Square?

No. The Square actions available to your assistant look up payments, orders, invoices, subscriptions, and payment links. They do not charge a card, create a payment, or issue a refund, so hand payment changes to your team.

## Can customers book new Square appointments through the assistant?

Not through Square. Your assistant can search booking availability and look up, update, or cancel an existing Square booking, but creating a new booking is not a supported action. Handle new appointments with your InsertChat scheduling setup or your team.

## What access does the Square connection use?

It uses the Square account you authorize in the InsertChat app, with that account’s own permissions. Enable only the customer, booking, order, and catalog actions your workflow needs. Connected services such as Square may have their own charges.
