# Ghost AI Chatbot: Add It With Code Injection

Source: https://insertchat.com/integration/ghost

> Install the AI chat widget on Ghost with Code Injection.

To add an AI chatbot to Ghost, open Settings → Code injection in Ghost admin, paste your InsertChat install code into Site Footer, and save. Ghost recommends the footer for JavaScript. The chat answers readers from your posts and pages, and collects sponsorship and partnership inquiries for you.

## Answer reader questions from your archive

A reader asks whether you’ve covered a topic and what a paid membership includes. The assistant answers from the posts, pages, and membership FAQs you added to its knowledge. A brand asking about sponsorship gets the rates and audience details you publish, and its contact details land in your inbox.

## Where the code goes in Ghost

- Location: Settings → Code injection → Site Footer
- Requirements: Ghost’s guides list no plan requirement for code injection. Site Footer code is added to every page, and Ghost recommends the footer for JavaScript.

A website install adds the chat to your pages without signing in to your Ghost account or reading its data.

## Setup

1. **Copy your install code.** Open your assistant’s website install settings in InsertChat, choose HTML or custom website as your website platform, and copy the installation code.
2. **Add it to Site Footer.** In Ghost admin, open Settings → Code injection, paste the code into Site Footer, and save.
3. **Verify and test.** Run Verify on your website in InsertChat with the published URL of a post, then open the chat and ask the questions your customers ask most.

## How businesses use Ghost with InsertChat

Illustrative examples, not customer results.

- **Answer membership and newsletter questions.** Readers ask what paid members get, how often you publish, or how to change their email. The assistant answers from your membership pages and sends account changes to you.
- **Turn readers into advisory clients.** A reader of your industry analysis asks whether you take advisory work. The assistant explains your services from your pages, collects the company and need, and books an intro call. [Professional services](https://insertchat.com/industries/professional-services)
- **Collect sponsorship inquiries.** Brands asking about sponsorships get your published rates and audience details, and the assistant collects budget, dates, and contact details for you to follow up.

## Can the chatbot manage Ghost memberships?

No. The install adds chat to your site; it doesn’t connect to your Ghost members or newsletters. The assistant answers from the membership information you publish and passes account requests to you.

## Where exactly does the code go in Ghost?

In the Site Footer field of Code injection, which Ghost adds to every page of your site. Ghost recommends the footer for JavaScript so it loads properly. You can also add code to a single post or page from its settings.

## Will the chat slow my pages down?

The install code loads the chat script asynchronously, so your posts render without waiting for it. The chat launcher stays closed until a reader opens it.
